Terravita

Terravita Golf and Country Club is home to both year-round and seasonal residents. The North Scottsdale location offers residents fabulous views of Black Mountain, The Boulders Resort and desert sunsets. But what draws most residents is the Terravita Lifestyle with the award-winning private golf club and country club. All residents enjoy access to tennis, pool/spa facilities, 7 mile nature trail system, fitness center, dining and the community center. Monthly fees are $170 with no food and beverage minimum. Residents also have the option to join the golf club for an initiation fee of $17,500 (with 3 months dues free). Monthly dues are $627 for a couple. Membership is not limited to homeowners.

Terravita was developed by Del Webb in late 1993 and turned over to the membership in 1999. The 823 acre, 1380 home guard gated community has twenty separate floor plans that range in size from 1500 to 3800 square feet. Prices are currently from the low $400ks to $900k.

Winfield

Winfield is another guard-gated North Scottsdale community, just south of the Carefree/Cave Creek area. Surrounded by a large mountain preserve, each home was built to take advantage of the mountain and desert views. The community features a 13,500 square feet community center which includes a café, state of the art fitness facility, billiard room, media lounge and rooms for community activities/special events as well as private parties. Adjacent to the community center is the resort size beach-entry heated pool and the 8 lighted tennis courts including two championship clay courts. A tennis professional is on-site.

There are a range of residential options at Winfield, which was developed by Pulte Homes starting in the late 1990s. The Winfield Villas are the perfect lock and leave for full or part-time residents ranging in size from 1510 to 2180 square feet and share a common wall with their neighbor. A patio home is another option with 5 different floor plans to choose from at 2024 to 2442 square feet. Four floor plans make up the luxury home area of Winfield, ranging in size from 2300 to over 3000 square feet. Homes are currently priced between the high $300ks to $900k.

La Buena Vida Estates

Built in the late 1990s by US Homes, this community is close to the Cave Creek A+ schools and the recreation of the Cave Creek/Carefree area. The single family homes on good size lots range in size from 2100 to over 4000 square feet, the majority with private pools. Homes are priced from the low $400k to high $600k.

The Boulders

The Boulders in Carefree is home to the Waldorf Astoria Boulders Resort, the famous Golden Door Spa and the iconic boulder rock formation. It is also apopular golf destination with its 2 championship Jay Moorish design golf courses. Intermingled with the resort, are several communities of homes for sale including The Villas, The North and South Boulders, Pueblo En Los Rojas and The Fifth Green. This unique blend of residential real estate offers small patio homes, custom home sites, villas, semi-custom homes, and multi-million dollar estates. Prices are from the high $400ks to over $2 million. Club & Golf Membership is separate from property ownership.

Los Alisos

Los Alisos in North Scottsdale is just minutes from Carefree/Cave Creek. Residents of this small gated community have fabulous views of Black Mountain, desert and other surrounding mountains. The community of single level homes was developed by Engle Homes between 1999 and 2002. Square footage ranges from 2573 to over 3800 square feet and are currently selling from the mid $500k to $700k.

Solstice at Sevano

Located adjacent to the Whisper Rock Golf Course in North Scottsdale, Solstice features 78 single and two-story townhomes with a pool, spa and ramada area. Solstice was developed by Cachet Homes and completed in 2008. Townhomes range from 1856 to 2765 square feet. Prices are currently high $400k to $600k.

Boulder Ridge

Boulder Ridge is a small community of 80 custom homes near Scottsdale Road and Westland. All of the homes are on at least a ½ acre with many close to an acre. The majority of homes were built in the early 2000s but there is still privately owned undeveloped lots. Much of the community is dedicated to natural open space allowing residents an abundance of privacy. Homes sell from the mid $600k to $1 million.

Sand Flower

Sand Flower is a community of quality large single-level homes on large lots and surrounding open spaces. Developed by Monterey homes between 1998 and 2003, the floor plans range in size from 3055 to 5287 square feet. Many of the lots are over 1 acre offering lots of privacy and breathtaking views. Homes are priced between $700k and $1 million.

Cortona

Cortona is another development from the prestigious builder Monterey Homes. Built in 2003 – 2004, this small gated community has all single level homes from 3500 to over 5500 square feet. All homes sit on at least a ¾ acre lot with views of mountains in every direction. Homes are priced between the high $600k to $1 million.

Las Piedras at Sevano Village

Bordering a mountain preserve, Las Piedras was developed by Columbia Homes in 2005. The one and two level homes range in size from 2604 to 4367 square feet. Along with the amazing views, the gated community with only 64 homes features a clubhouse with pool, spa and workout facility. Homes are priced from the high $700k to over $1 million.

Baraca Estates

Baraca Estates is a boutique, private gated community of just 15 homesites. Currently being developed by Ryland Homes, the community has 4 floor plans of 4-5 bedroom single level homes from 3600 to 4500 + square feet with the option of a separate guest house. Homes start at $649,950 to $900k.

Desert Springs

Desert Springs is a small, exclusive gated community of only 40 custom home sites. Homes range in size from 2300 to well over 4000 square feet. The location at Pima Road and Hawknest allows for fabulous mountain and desert views from each of the ½ acre + lots. Prices range from $700k to $900k.

Tecolote

The gated community of Tecolote was developed in the early 2000s. This is a very exclusive and private community of custom homeswith only 25 homesites. All lots are over 1 acre in size – homes are currently priced over $1 million.

Windmill

Windmill is a private, gated community of eight home sites set on 20 acres in the high Sonoran Desert foothills.Six home sites on which six striking homes will be built are still available. Plans for each of the six additional Western Ranch style homes have been crafted to the last detail by the renowned architect, Bob Bacon. Home sites average about two acres each, home designs are all “green certified” and take advantage of the fabulous setting. Homes are priced over $2 million.
